About Skjern Paper A/S: A Legacy of Circular Innovation

In the heart of West Jutland, the town of Skjern is home to a remarkable symbol of Danish industrial innovation and environmental stewardship: Skjern Paper A/S. Founded in 1965, this pioneering company has grown from a regional packaging producer into one of Northern Europe’s most advanced and eco-conscious paper manufacturers. For over half a century, Skjern Paper has been driven by a philosophy that is more relevant today than ever: waste is a resource. As Denmark's only paper mill, the company proudly operates on 100% recycled paper and cardboard, transforming discarded materials into high-quality, sustainable paper and board products. This unwavering commitment to the circular economy is not just a business model; it is a promise to the planet and to future generations.

The state-of-the-art production facility in Skjern is the nerve center of the operation, where a dedicated team of around 200 employees leverages advanced technology and deep-rooted craftsmanship to produce thousands of tons of paper products annually. The company specializes in creating essential materials for industrial packaging, including grey board, core board, and paper for tubes and cores, which are vital components in countless industries, from consumer goods and construction to logistics and retail. By continuously investing in automation, digital monitoring, and process optimization, Skjern Paper ensures the highest standards of quality while minimizing its environmental footprint. The mill’s advanced water recycling systems reuse up to 90% of process water, and its energy is supplied by renewable sources, including biogas, making its carbon footprint one of the lowest in the European paper industry.

A Culture of Quality, Sustainability, and People

Skjern Paper’s success is built on three pillars: uncompromising quality, a deep commitment to sustainability, and a profound respect for its people. The company holds prestigious certifications, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council), and PEFC™, which guarantee that its products and processes meet the highest international standards. But beyond certifications, there is a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility. Employees are encouraged to contribute ideas for innovation, making sustainability a collective mission. The company fosters a strong sense of community, supporting local education and technical training programs to help cultivate the next generation of engineers and production specialists. A career at Skjern Paper is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that is not just manufacturing paper, but is actively building a cleaner, more circular future.
