General Requirements and Qualifications

To uphold the high educational standards of the Emirati American School, we have established specific criteria for our teaching faculty. We are looking for professionals who are not only qualified on paper but also possess the passion and temperament required for effective teaching. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the specific subject area or a Bachelor's in Education is mandatory. A recognized teaching diploma or license is highly preferred. Candidates must have their degrees attested (or be willing to attest them) for Ministry of Education approval in the UAE.

Prior teaching experience in a reputable school is strongly preferred. Experience with the American curriculum is an advantage for teaching positions, while familiarity with the MOE curriculum is essential for Arabic and Islamic Studies. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively, create a positive learning environment, and show proficiency in using educational technology. Furthermore, a genuine love for teaching, excellent communication skills, adaptability, and deep respect for the UAE culture and Islamic values are paramount.
